About thred

Why thred exists.

The time between sessions matters as much as the hour inside them. thred is built around that idea.

Free during early access. No credit card required.

The idea

Most of what happens between sessions never makes it into the room. A thought at 11pm, a moment of clarity on the way to work, a feeling that doesn't have a name yet. By the time the session comes round, it's gone, or the words for it are.

thred started from a question: what if you could catch those moments as they happen, in your own voice, and bring them with you?

The founder's story

thred was founded by Divya Mathew, CGMA ACMA, who brings a background in mental health, product, finance and commercial work. Before founding Naustec, she was Finance Director at a private mental health clinic.

"I came to this as a client first. There was a time I found myself overwhelmed, with emotions I couldn't name and thoughts I couldn't organise. I started therapy, and I kept showing up unprepared. Not because I wasn't trying, but because by the time I got to the room, I couldn't remember what mattered that week. Journalling wasn't helping. I wanted to speak, and I wanted something to help me understand what I'd said.

"At the clinic, I saw the same problem from the other side: sessions starting from what clients could recall, rather than what they had actually lived through that week.

"I'm building thred because I've lived both sides of it."

How we build it

Your audio isn't kept. Recordings are deleted as soon as they're transcribed. thred keeps the words and the reflection, not your voice.

Nothing is shared without your say. You choose what goes to your therapist, and when.

It doesn't diagnose. thred reflects back what you said and doesn't replace your therapist. If something you say suggests you might need urgent support, thred shows you where to find it in your country.

Where we are

thred is made by Naustec Ltd, a UK company. It's in early access and free while we learn from the people using it.

It started as one person's idea, and it won't stay that way for long. New people are joining the team soon, so watch this space.
